Write a good listing
Your listing is what a player reads before deciding to click, and what search engines index. Reviewers check it against your game, and can correct details the site shows to be wrong, such as the category or the languages.
At most 50 characters. Use the game’s real name, capitalized the way the game does it. A keyword-stuffed name will be corrected at review. On a live game, a new name also changes the address.
Description
Section titled “Description”Required, and shown on the game’s page, with 300 characters to work with in the dashboard’s form. Say what the game is and what makes it different, in a sentence or two. Keep it true: a description that does not match the game is a common reason to be sent back.
Guess the capital city from its skyline. One photo a day, six tries, and each wrong answer zooms out.How to play
Section titled “How to play”The rules, in your words, at most 1,200 characters. This is optional, but it is the text players read before they click and what search engines have most to index. Add it on the game’s Edit page, where you can preview it.
It is plain text with two rules:
- A blank line starts a paragraph.
- A line beginning with a dash becomes a list item.
Guess the daily word in six tries.
- Green means the letter is in the right place- Yellow means it is in the word but elsewhere- Resets at midnight UTCWrite what is true of your game, and only that. Mention when the puzzle resets and whether there are several modes.
Category
Section titled “Category”Pick the one players would look under. There are 17, listed in Categories. Inside each one, Alldle files games into subcategories on its side, so you do not choose one, and a new game may not have one straight away.
Universe
Section titled “Universe”A universe is the franchise or named world a game is drawn from: Pokémon, the NBA, The Simpsons. Most games have none, and that is fine.
If your game’s universe is missing from the list, suggest it (at most 80 characters) and reviewers will consider it.
Languages
Section titled “Languages”The languages the game can be played in, not the ones its menus mention:
en English, fr French, es Spanish, de German, it Italian, pl Polish, pt Portuguese, nl Dutch, ru Russian, ja Japanese, zh Chinese.
Daily or unlimited
Section titled “Daily or unlimited”A game is unlimited only when its address is mainly a game you can play as often as you like. A daily game with an optional practice mode or archive is still a daily game.
The dashboard’s form saves new games as daily, and the review corrects this if your game is really unlimited. From an assistant, you set it yourself with isUnlimited.
Thumbnail
Section titled “Thumbnail”The picture on every card. It matters more than anything else in the listing for whether people click.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Formats | JPG, PNG or WebP. From an assistant, GIF too, and animated GIFs keep their frames. |
| File size | 5 MB at most |
| Size | 4:3 and at least 640 pixels wide works best |
| Stored as | WebP, at most 640 pixels wide |
Show the game itself. A good thumbnail is a screenshot of the game being played, with no cookie banner, dialog or broken page in front of it. A logo or an app icon tells a player nothing about what they would be playing.
Keep the subject in the middle. Alldle crops the picture to fit each place it appears: 4:3 in grids, wider on top game cards, and square in lists and in small icons as tiny as 32 pixels. Text near the edges gets cut, and small text cannot be read anyway.
Your website, Twitter and Discord, shown on the game’s page. All optional.
If your game has several modes (classic, pixel, hard), declare them under SDK Modes on the Edit page. They name the rows of your results. You only need them if you install the SDK. On a live game, see how saving them works.
