Daily ritual and streaks
A daily game lives on people who return. The daily ritual is how Alldle helps with that: traffic that repeats on its own.
How it works for a player
Section titled “How it works for a player”- On your game’s page, they press Add to Ritual. Your game joins their short list of daily games.
- They can pick an hour and get a reminder that names their own games. It only goes out if they have not played yet.
- Playing keeps their streak going. If a streak of two days or more is about to end, a last call goes out in the evening.
Signed-out players can do all of this. Their ritual and streak stay in the browser and move to their account if they sign up.
Reminders slow down for players who stopped coming: weekly after 14 days away, none after 60.
What ticks your game off
Section titled “What ticks your game off”| What the player does | Without the SDK | With the SDK |
|---|---|---|
| Presses Play, or opens your site from Alldle | Ticked off | Ticked off |
| Finishes a round inside Alldle | Nothing more | A result card, and the round is recorded on a signed-in player’s account |
| Finishes a round on your site, after coming from Alldle | Nothing more | The round is recorded on a signed-in player’s account |
The streak comes from pressing Play or opening your site, with or without the SDK. Alldle only tags links to your site for a game that reported in the last 30 days.
With the SDK, your game page also shows Syncs with Alldle, so players know their round will count. See What the SDK gives you.
Other ways Alldle brings players back
Section titled “Other ways Alldle brings players back”- The next game. 90 seconds into a game, or on returning from your site, a bar suggests what to play next. Your game shows up there for players of other games.
- Friends. Players see what their friends played today, and can share their day.
- “Games like” pages and the discovery queue suggest your game to people who play similar ones.
Getting more players into rituals
Section titled “Getting more players into rituals”Nothing here needs code. Good habits from games that do well:
- Keep the reset time steady, and say when it is in your rules. A player who knows it comes back at the right time.
- Work well in a frame, so playing is one click away. See Allow embedding.
- Add the badge, which links players from your site to your Alldle page. See The badge.
