Change a game

It depends on the game’s status:

Status Your edit
Draft Applies at once
In review Applies at once, and the reviewer sees the latest version
Changes needed Applies at once. Then resubmit
Live Waits for review, except modes

Your game stays up and unchanged while an update is reviewed. Players see the old values until it is approved.

Reviewed first: name, description, how to play, address, thumbnail, category, universe, languages and links.

Modes are the exception. SDK modes are configuration and apply at once, but the Edit page always sends every field. So saving it on a live game also queues an update for review, even if you only changed the modes, and you cannot save modes while an update is queued. To change only the modes, use an assistant, whose update_game sends just those.

The decision reaches you as a notification on Alldle, and by email when a moderator makes it. If the update is refused, your live listing stays as it was.

Renaming a live game changes its address, and the old one stops working once the new name is approved. Update your links, the badge and the SDK’s data-game.

A live game. Change the address on the Edit page. It goes through review like any other edit, and the old address stays in use until then.

A game that is not live. If the new address is on the same site, nothing else changes. www. and the bare domain count as the same site. If it is on a different site, its verification is cleared and it returns to draft, so you verify the new site to send it back to review.

Either way, Alldle checks the new site’s framing headers.

On the Edit page, or from an assistant with set_game_thumbnail and a public image address. On a live game, the new image waits for review and the old one stays up.
